Several hundred years ago, it was quite acceptable to think that the Earth was flat. As we grew with science and a better grasp of technology, we successfully ridiculed the theory and proved the Earth was in fact a sphere. However, the theory has long but disappeared with several flat Earth societies popping up in the 21st century claiming that space organisations including NASA and ESA along with major governments are pushing a “round Earth conspiracy”
According to “The Flat Earth Society” photos of the globe are digitally manipulated and GPS devices are programmed in to give airplane pilots the illusion that they are flying in straight lines around the ball we call Earth
The answer is rain
The Flat Earth Society states in their Frequently Asked Questions“Most Flat Earthers think Astronauts have been bribed or coerced into their testimonies. Some believe they have been fooled or are mistaken.” And that the reason to lie about a round Earth includes the intention of draining science budgets and to continue the lies of the fake moon landing. The page even goes as far as to say: “Gravity as a theory is false. Objects simply fall.”
The Flat Earth theory has spawned several supporters including rapper B.o.B who even blasted astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson over the evidence that the Earth is in-fact round. When clueless celebrities can encourage others to follow their beliefs, things get dangerous.
For Facebook page “Flat Earth? Or Globed LETS APPLY Mathematics” several of the easily disproven “confirmations” given are both hilarious and worrisome.
So here’s a few points are made by flat-Earthers to prove their theory:
If Earth was a globe, rivers such as the Mississipi would have to flow uphill to reach the sea – flowing uphill 11 miles in its 3,000-mile length.
If Earth was spherical, helicopters would be able to hover in place and wait for their destinations to come to them.
Flat-Earthers are also adamant that there aren’t billions of stars in the universe, and that this is just another lie fed to us by astrophysics majors and space agencies.
