Develop an understanding that surpasses mere empathy

Cornerstone Baptist Church celebrated appreciation for 11 years of service from Pastor Benjamin F. and Elect Lady Mary F. Simpson at Rivers of Living Water Church on 4312 Ohio Avenue in Gulfport, MS this past Sunday. Members of several churches commemorated the celebration by singing praises to God, praise dancing, and hearing a message from the Word of God.

The speaker of the hour was the pastor of Empowerment Ministries Church, Reverend Greg Magee. Pastor Magee asked his wife, First Lady Irene Magee to “team-up” with him to deliver the message. The two conveyed an oration of “Faith” with passion, excitement, and most of all, self-conviction. One of the many scriptural text they spoke on was Mark 4:35-41.

After their message, Pastor Greg explained the plight of many pastors and the importance of showing them appreciation. He revealed, “A lot of people don’t understand what goes on behind the scenes. Okay, you say, ‘My pastor counsels with me and preaches to me’, but you fail to realize, first of all, pastor got his own set of problems. Yet, God chasten him to set aside his problems and address everybody else’s problems.”

Several members of Cornerstone Baptist Church express their faith and appreciation in their pastor and elect lady. “What I love best about Cornerstone members is their loyalty to our pastor and elect lady,” their daughter Valerie Singleton stated.
